Westgate Road

Westgate Road gets its name from the West Gate of the ancient City Walls and follows the line of Hadrian’s Wall. It was once the home of the rich merchants and gentry of Newcastle including Robert Stephenson and some of those houses still remain.

Today it has become a centre for Motorcyclists from all over the world to gather and there are over 30 motorcycle related shops catering for on and off road bikes

There are also other specialist shops on Westgate Road, Flip the vintage American clothes store has been around since 1978, Books for Amnesty sells second hand books raising funds for Amnesty International, as well as music shops and cafés.
