All Saints Church Quayside

Standing high on Sandhill looking over the Quayside, All Saints Church was built in 1796 at a cost of £27,000. It is on the site of an earlier church which dated from before 1284. A Roman Pantheon was said to have existed on the site previously and so this may be the oldest religious site in Newcastle. The church has an unusual elliptical shape in the Renaissance style measuring 86 feet by 72 feet.

The church was deconsecrated in 1961.
