Banqueting Hall (Jesmond Dene)

In 1864 The Banqueting Hall was built in Jesmond Dene for Lord Armstrong by John Dobson. Lord Armstrong used it for entertaining. At each end of the main hall there was an arched window and alcoves in the walls held Greek statues. It also contained an organ powered by water from the nearby Ouseburn River.

The old banqueting hall is now open to the elements following the loss of its roof during the mid 1970s. It is used as a storage area and is a Grade 2 listed building.
