St Mary's Chapel Remains
St Mary’s Chapel is thought to have been built during the 12th century by the Grenvilles, landowners in Jesmond. In 1883 when Jesmond Dene was given to Newcastle upon Tyne the chapel was linked to the Banqueting Hall by a subway through a shrubbery.
